In the summer of 2026, America begins a once-in-a-generation celebration of its 250th Anniversary, and along the historic waterfront of Norfolk, Virginia, the worlds great sailing vessels gather for one of the most spectacular maritime festivals ever assembled. Towering masts rise above the harbor, colorful flags snap in the coastal breeze, and proud naval vessels join magnificent tall ships arriving from across the globe for Sail250®, an international celebration marking the beginning of the nations Semiquincentennial.
Norfolks rich maritime heritage provides the perfect setting for this remarkable event. Your journey unfolds amid the beauty of Norfolk Botanical Garden, where winding paths lead through vibrant blooms, tranquil waterways, and beautifully designed landscapes. Nearby, the MacArthur Memorial honors the life and legacy of one of Americas most distinguished military leaders.
The regions history continues along the waters of Hampton Roads during a narrated harbor cruise. Along these storied shores stand landmarks such as Fort Monroe and the Old Point Comfort Lighthouse, reminders of a coastline that has witnessed the earliest chapters of the nations story.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the celebration is the magnificent Parade of Sail. From the historic ramparts of Fort Monroe, watch as a fleet of the worlds most beautiful tall ships and naval vessels enters the harbor in a breathtaking procession. Their towering masts and billowing sails recall the romance of the great age of exploration as ships from around the world gather in a rare peacetime assembly.
Along Norfolks lively waterfront, the festivities continue as you stroll among the visiting ships and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere surrounding this international gathering. At Nauticus, the citys maritime discovery center, interactive exhibits reveal the powerful connection between Norfolk and the sea. Nearby, the legendary Battleship Wisconsin rises above the harbor, her massive decks telling the story of American naval service from World War II through the modern era.

DAY 1
Fly from San Diego to Norfolk, Virginia, where you'll be met by our Mayflower representitive and transported to your hotel. Unpack just once for a four-night stay. This evening, meet your Tour Manager and traveling companions for a delicious welcome dinner.
DDAY 2
Begin the day at the Norfolk Botanical Garden, Virginia's premier nature experience. From its humble beginnings the garden has grown to a 175-acre garden filled with thousands of blooming flowers and plants. Visit the more than 60 themed and formal gardens, natural areas and breathtaking landscapes. Then, make a stop at the General Douglas MacArthur Memorial before climbing aboard the Hampton Queen for a narrated cruise of Hampton Harbor. With over 20 points of interest and over 400 years of history from the founding of Jamestown in 1607 to current Norfolk Naval Base, the cruise is filled with history. Some highlights of the tour include Virginia Air & Space Science Center, Fort Monroe, Old Point Comfort Lighthouse and possibly even some dolphin sightings.
B, LDAY 3
Travel to Fort Monroe this morning and take your reserved spot to witness the incredible "Parade of Sail." Sit back and relax while taking in this milestone occasion. Witness the sailing of a fleet of the world's most magnificent international tall ships and military ships in an epic peacetime gathering. Norfolk is a selected gathering port for more than 55 ships from 20 nations. Numerous food trucks will be available for you to enjoy lunch. Then, explore the history and significance of Fort Monroe, a National Historic Landmark, whose history spans 400 years. Later, visit the Virginia Air and Space Center whose permanent collection spans 100 years of flight, featuring over 30 historic aircraft and the Apollo 12 Command Module.
B, DDAY 4
Begin the day at Sail250® Virginia with a closeup look at the celebration's many vessels before the ships are opened to the public. Take time to stroll among the tall ships, costumed characters and military vessels, shop among the many festival vendors and enjoy the product demonstrations and live entertainment. Then, visit Nauticus, the maritime discovery center where you will immerse yourself in the world of sailing and the U.S. Navy. Interactive exhibits, the sailing center and the Schooner Virginia tell the story of the maritime environment, industry, and the military. Step aboard the Battleship Wisconsin, the largest and last battleship ever built by the U. S., and let its decks tell the story of the vessel's five-star battles during WWII. Tonight, your Tour Manager hosts a special farewell dinner at a local favorite restaurant.
DAY 5
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we bid a fond farewell to Virginia and transfer to Norfolk’s International Airport for a return flight to San Diego. If you book your own air, please plan your departure time for after 12:00 p.m.
