We depart San Diego and head north to the vibrant downtown of Ventura, where you'll have free time to enjoy a delectable lunch of your choice. Continuing along the iconic Highway 101, the scenery transforms into a picturesque landscape. A haven of tranquility and aromatic wonders awaits you at the Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm. Immerse yourself in the soothing ambiance as you partake in a guided walking tour of the lavender fields, learning about the farm's rich history and the art of cultivating this fragrant herb. Indulge your senses further at the farm's gift booth, where an array of lavender-infused products beckon. Our journey continues northward to the charming city of San Luis Obispo for a delicious included dinner at Olive Garden. Savor the flavors of Italy as you connect with fellow travelers over a delightful meal. This evening, you'll find respite at the Apple Farm Inn, where you'll settle in for a two-night stay. Nestled in the heart of San Luis Obispo, this enchanting inn boasts rooms that seamlessly blend modern comfort with timeless style.

Fuel your morning with an included breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant before our journey takes us along the breathtaking coastal highway toward San Simeon. Our first stop is the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery, where you'll be treated to a docent-led exploration of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Next, we venture to Covell Ranch, home to Clydesdale horses in the hills near Cambria. Embark on a wagon tour of the farm, then interact with the beautiful Clydesdale horses and enjoy an included ranch-cooked outdoor BBQ lunch at the barn. This afternoon we return to the hotel for a few hours of leisure time. Then, as the sun begins its descent, we make our way to Paso Robles to witness the mesmerizing Sensorio Field of Lights. In this breathtaking art installation, thousands of lights come to life, illuminating the rolling hills and fields in a symphony of colors. Revel in the magical ambiance as you stroll through this enchanting display. Dinner is included upon arrival at Sensorio.

B, L, D

Today, we bid farewell to our charming accommodations and set a course for home, making a delightful detour to the enchanting Danish village of Solvang. Steep yourself in the unique atmosphere as we embark on a guided trolley tour of the downtown area. Marvel at the quaint windmills, explore the Danish-inspired buildings, and uncover the rich history giving this village its distinctive character. Following the tour, you'll have free time for a leisurely lunch and shopping, allowing you to explore at your own pace. Continuing south, we stop early evening at the Proud Bird Food Bazaar in Los Angeles. Enjoy dinner on your own, surrounded by the iconic aircraft of yesteryear, and marvel at the spectacle of giant airliners crossing the threshold to land at LAX just outside the restaurant's table-to-ceiling windows. As your journey concludes, reflect on the moments shared, the places discovered, and the friendships forged - a perfect ending to an extraordinary journey.

Activity Level: High

Considerable walking is involved at most locations visited on this tour, including areas with uneven or unpaved surfaces and inclines. Each day involves stepping on and off the coach several times as we visit a variety of locations. The Santa Rita Lavender Farm walking tour is not accessible for wheelchairs or walkers and may be challenging with a cane, as it involves walking on soft soil and stepping across small irrigation ruts. Covell Ranch is a private working ranch, and stepping up onto the wagon ride may be a challenge to individuals with mobility restrictions. There is no alternative means of touring the horse ranch. High elevations are not a factor on this tour.
