Darkened skies will be ablaze with color and light at the Pomona Fairgrounds during this incredible evening of ancient luminary wonders. The theme of this year’s annual Chinese Lantern Festival is “The Wild” and features larger-than-life lanterns staged as a global safari, giving you an opportunity to walk through different “continents.” The wonders of illuminated animals including giant cheetahs, jumping koi fish and majestic cranes guide you through each location and even back in time to the era of dinosaurs. Each lantern is handcrafted by masters from Zigong, China, the center of the country’s lantern heritage, using a tradition that extends back centuries. The festival also hosts Chinese folk artists demonstrating their ancient crafts, live Kung Fu & Chinese Martial Arts Performances, a variety of Asian cuisine, and more! Enjoy dinner on your own at the festival or take our optional shuttle to the nearby Claremont Packing House.
