Tour Fare: $139

Come along with us to Riverside and take a guided tour inside a Medieval Spanish castle! Built in 1931, Benedict Castle was designed by noted architect Henry Jeckel for Charles Benedict, an affluent New Yorker whose European travels inspired him to build his own castle home here in the Inland Empire. Patterned after the Alhambra Castle in Spain, it merges the architecture of the Spanish-Moorish and Mission Revival periods and has been used as a set location for several movies including Hunchback of Notre Dame and Bride of Frankenstein. You’ll enjoy a guided tour and an included catered lunch inside this beautiful castle before we motor to our next historical landmark, the nearby Jensen Alvarado Ranch, which shows life as it was lived in the 1880s. Here, docents in period attire offer hands-on demonstrations of tortilla and butter making, adobe brick making, ice cream cranking, weaving, and various farming techniques from the 19th century.
