Tour of New Mormon Temple in Tijuana, Mexico

“DayTripper passengers seized the rare opportunity to tour the interior of a spectacular Mormon Temple when we visited the newly constructed Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Tijuana, Mexico. Considered the most sacred places on Earth by Latter-day Saints, temples are reserved for special forms of worship and ceremonies, and only members of the faith are permitted to enter a dedicated temple. However, prior to the temple’s official completion, the Church opens the doors for a short window of time to provide anyone in the community – Mormon or otherwise – the opportunity to tour the temple and learn more about its function, purpose and the Latter-day Saint beliefs. We embarked on a 2-hour tour of this magnificent architectural masterpiece, which reflects the Spanish Colonial influences that characterize much of Mexican architecture including the Spanish missions found throughout Mexico and the southwestern United States. We also enjoyed an elegant lunch at the upscale Cien Años Restaurant in Tijuana’s River Zone.”
