A DayTrip to the Ranchos

“We experience the colorful history, charming architecture, and delectable cuisine of southern California’s yesteryear on our recent tour to two popular Ranchos of Long Beach. Our first stop was Rancho Los Alamitos where we embarked on a guided tour of the adobe-core ranch house ca.1800 and the restored working ranch barns of the early-mid 20th century. Wel also meandered through the site’s four acres of lush gardens developed during the 1920s and 30s. Then we all gathered for a buffet luncheon of Rancho tri-tip and grilled chicken. After lunch we traveled to Rancho Los Cerritos where we took a guided tour of the 1844 adobe home. The site – a National, State and Long Beach historic landmark – also features gardens and a public museum that we browsed. It was a fabulous day of historic discoveries and culinary delights!”
