A Day at the L.A. Arboretum

“We escaped to a lush wonderland of colorful flora and fauna on our recent journey to the Los Angeles County Arboretum, a 127-acre botanical garden and historical site nestled in the hills near the San Gabriel Mountains. We embarked on a docent-guided walking tour through the Arboretum’s five botanical regions – which include Africa, Australia, the Americas, the Asiatic, and the Historic Circle. We also saw historical structures that serve as backdrops for these fascinating stories, including the Tongva Kiys, the Hugo Reid adobe, the Santa Anita Depot, and the Queen Anne Cottage, which was featured in the opening scene of the hit TV series Fantasy Island. We also enjoyed an included lunch at the Arboretum’s onsite Peacock Cafe – where we visited with some very friendly peacocks!”
