Answer: 47

Question: What is the number of DayTripper guests who watched five contestants compete on the 7,879th and 7,880th episodes of Jeopardy?

Who doesn’t love Jeopardy?  I know that when I am at my mom’s house there is no talking during the show and have mercy if you call her during that ½ hour (I have learned to hold off the call or just call during a commercial break).  I also know that you just don’t watch just a segment, but once it’s turned on your life stops (ok maybe I will fold laundry during that time).

If you are a fan of Jeopardy, then a day traveling to the Sony Studio to see a taping of the game show will catapult you into the next level of being a diehard Jeopardy fanatic.   The taping includes a VIP enterance onto the studio lot with parking like a movie star.

It’s hard to believe that the show is 35 years in the running.  This long running game show has earned multiple awards and Emmy’s-all of which were displayed for guests to see.

Also displayed was a podium similar to Alex Tribek’s along with the items he keeps on it during the filming.  This solved the mystery of what Alex is writing during the show (you too can find out if you go with DayTripper Tours to a taping of Jeopardy).  Have you ever noticed that the guests are the same height?  One of the many tricks we learned was they had the shorter contestants on blocks in order for them to be of equal height to the tallest person.

DayTripper guests were a part of two shows that will air in December 2018.   But the best part of the show is seeing the behind the scenes of how the show is run.  We even got to see mistakes made on behalf of the Alex and the staff (few and forgiveable).  But the viewer will never know because during the commercial breaks he will reread the questions and they will fix the voiceover in post-production.  Also, during these commercial breaks (bonus we don’t see the commercials, but they have to pretend to break away to a commercial), Alex talks to the audience and allows them to ask questions about him and the show.  This was probably the best part of the taping.

Before the taping, we went to the Farmer’s Market and The Grove at Wilshire Blvd. & 3rd Ave.  The time allowed us to have a nice lunch with plenty of time to visit the vendors and take in a trolley ride through The Grove.  We forgot it was Halloween because they already had the Christmas Tree up and decorated along with Santa’s Village ready for the holiday season.

This is a tour you can never get tired of since it’s always different.  For the loyal Jeopardy viewer, this tour will provide a refreshing way to watch the show.  Hopefully we will see the 47 DayTripper guests on another taping of Jeopardy again.

WARNING, if you get an invite from one of the 47 Daytripper guests in December to watch Jeopardy, do not place any bets with them since chances are high they know every answer!
