COWBOY FESTIVAL AT MELODY RANCH MOTION PICTURE STUDIO
Saturday Apr 26, 2014
Step back in time to the rough-and-ready days of chaps, saddles and saloons when you travel with us to the annual Cowboy Festival at the Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio in Santa Clarita where, since 1915, legendary cowboys such as Roy Rogers and John Wayne have filmed Westerns. In an authentic setting that includes an entire Western town, you’ll watch history come alive through demonstrations of trick roping, blacksmithing, quilting and cowboy cooking. There are plenty of options to enjoy lunch on your own, including an authentic chuck wagon that dishes up tasty treats like homemade peach cobbler cooked in a Dutch oven and real down-home biscuits and gravy. Stroll down Main Street and be entertained by a variety of top name Country Western groups and Native American performers. Visit the one-of-a-kind Motion Picture Museum and enjoy a walk through the history of film making at the Ranch. Dress for the West, and let your imagination be swept away by this unique opportunity to be a part of the lure and the lore of the Old West.
