House of Light: Mormon Temple, Mission Bells, & Old Town

For the first time in 33 years, the magnificent San Diego California Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is opening its doors to the public for less than three weeks—a rare and temporary opportunity few ever have the chance to experience. Normally closed except to members of the faith, this breathtaking landmark will only be accessible for a limited time. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to step inside one of San Diego’s most iconic and awe-inspiring architectural treasures. Admire the soaring white spires, peaceful atmosphere, remarkable craftsmanship, and stunning interiors.

This unforgettable day also includes a visit to beautiful Mission San Diego de Alcalá, California’s very first mission, founded in 1769 by Saint Junípero Serra and lovingly known as the “Mother of the Missions.” During a docent-led tour, discover the rich history, faith, and heritage that shaped early California while strolling through the serene gardens, chapel, and historic grounds.

Adding to the charm of the day, spend time in colorful Old Town San Diego, considered the birthplace of California. Enjoy free time to have lunch on your own, browse unique shops and galleries, or simply relax and soak in the lively atmosphere and historic surroundings. This excursion offers a meaningful blend of history, architecture, spirituality, and discovery.
